First National Interfaith Forum - 21-22 September 2003
This successful event brought more than 100 people from all the major faiths around the country to explore common issues and to celebrate and honour both the values held in common and the differences that create the unique character of each faith.
The aim of the Forum was to improve community harmony and strengthen New Zealand society.
The forum’s objectives were to:
- encourage local, regional and national interfaith activities and relationships
- open and promote channels of communication between various faith communities and the wider population
- communicate findings to better inform the decision makers.
